What is Goer?
Goer (formerly GymGoer) is an Austin and Melbourne-based fitness and wellness marketplace designed to monetize unused studio capacity and streamline pass bookings for fitness enthusiasts globally.
Goer was co-founded by Ryan Clarke and Blake Beltram (the original co-founder of MINDBODY, the world's leading wellness management software).
While an accelerator provided over 30 pages of visual Figma wireframes, the platform required serious enterprise-level engineering to become commercial software. Goer engaged Techne HQ to execute a complete ground-up technical expansion. Blake Beltram and Ryan Clarke tasked Techne HQ with conducting a comprehensive API feasibility study for MINDBODY platform integration, designing user flows capable of connecting to global booking engines, authoring a single-source-of-truth PRD, and engineering the complete native mobile and AWS cloud infrastructure.

MINDBODY API Feasibility & Booking System Integration: Evaluating complex, third-party gym booking platform APIs—specifically MINDBODY—to determine real-time schedule sync, pass validation logic, and automated inventory management feasibility.
Translating 30+ Figma Screens into Native Code & App Logic: Evaluating visual UI wireframes, integrating friction-free OAuth authentication (Google & Apple Login), and designing product architecture that seamlessly connects mobile users to studio management software.
Eliminating Development Ambiguity & Building Operational Control: Authoring a comprehensive PRD to lock in app logic prior to coding, and engineering the Master Admin Portal (Goer CRM) to give the founding team real-time oversight of revenue, user acquisition, and gym partner activity.

01 · MINDBODY API Feasibility Study & PRD Authoring
Techne HQ conducted an in-depth API feasibility study on MINDBODY and external gym booking systems to verify real-time schedule and pass validation syncs. We authored a comprehensive Product Requirements Document (PRD) defining every system interaction, database dependency, and API credential flow prior to development.
02 · Native Mobile Engineering (Swift & Kotlin)
We engineered Goer’s mobile application natively using Swift for iOS and Kotlin for Android. This native architecture guaranteed fluid UI performance, instant screen rendering, and reliable device-level integration across both operating systems during peak gym check-in hours.
03 · Scalable Java/SpringBoot & AWS Cloud Backend
Techne HQ built a resilient backend leveraging Java and SpringBoot, deployed on AWS Cloud Infrastructure. We implemented Amazon RDS (MySQL) for relational transaction data, Amazon S3 for media assets, and AWS Secrets Manager to ensure enterprise-grade security for API keys and third-party credential storage.
04 · Custom Master Admin Portal (Goer CRM) & Viral Referral Engine
We designed and built the custom Goer CRM from the ground up for Ryan Clarke and Blake Beltram. This Master Admin Portal provides real-time visibility into active users, total revenue, pass bookings, and gym partner activity. Integrated directly into the backend logic, the platform features a native referral economy where founders can manage workout credit rewards to drive viral growth and lower customer acquisition costs.
